Hi Friends!!
I am so excited to be participating in the blog hop to celebrate the Sending Sunshine set!For today's projects, the first card I created was a sending sunshine bright and happy card. I am a native Houstonian and this set couldn't come at a better time! My beloved city, well a lot of our state is a disaster area. My heart breaks for my fellow Texans & this was a bright spot in a very dismal time. Please read below for information on what Honey Bee Stamps is doing to support Texas!!!! Affiliate links are provided below, a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to my community for the Disaster Recovery.
For this card I used the Honey Bee Stamps layering Sunburst stencil and some Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer Paste to create the fun shimmery sunburst! I tinted it yellow by using a little Distress Ink Refill dropper in fossilized Amber.
The Stitched Cloud Border Honey Cuts are so perfect to layer. I chose to split them up for a totally different look, but they are stitched inside & out so that you can layer them. You will notice a tint on the edges, I used Distress Oxide Ink to lightly ink the edges in peacock feathers. It added a slight touch of blue to brighten up the borders of the clouds.
I used the coordinating dies to cut the Sending Sunshine Sentiment out of yellow cardstock. I then added Nuvo Crystal Glaze on top of the sentiment to give it additional dimension and shine. What a fun set!
For my second card I used another set released by Honey Bee Stamps. This card I used the A2 Sunburst Coverplate die and the Ray of Sunshine stamp set.
I used all Distress Oxide Inks to shade the sun. (Candied Apple & Fossilized Amber) I love the look of light to dark for the sun.
Next, I cut the word sunshine from the coordinating Ray of Sunshine Honey Cuts die set and added a layer of Nuvo Crystal Glaze to it for additional dimension. Don't you love the shadow for this die??!!
Also, I want to mention that Honey Bee Stamps is Sending Sunshine to Texas.
Melissa, the Honey Bee Stamps owner made this gorgeous card in support of this campaign. For the State of Texas and helping with the recovery, she is donating a portion of the sales to the JJ Watt Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. This fund gives 100% of all donations back to those in need.
